Agenda-TIF Town Hall Meeting of the Lawndale Alliance
The Lawndale Alliance is a group of North Lawndale residents who have come together to improve the quality of life in North Lawndale through grassroots advocacy, community organizing and leadership development. The group started in 2007 to address issues surrounding the impending creation of the Ogden/Pulaski TIF. Since that time, they have addressed inequities in the distribution of funding from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, low achievement in North Lawndale Schools, the Olympics, and analysis of every TIF that impacts North Lawndale. Check my new blog, Policy on the Ground. The purpose of the blog is to provide analyses of current policies on our everyday lives. I am particularly interested in issues surrounding community development, education, civic engagement and affordable housing. You will find archived articles that I’ve written on North Lawndale Schools, education policy, the Olympics and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. You will also find samples of testimony provided for a number of public hearings, and archived documents from the Lawndale Alliance.
